Planet Citizens - Language Training 2024 Aubervilliers, France Volunteer opportunity: Sports & Languages
Based in disadvantaged areas north of Paris, Planet Citizens conducts a program teaching Languages through Sports. The mission is for any European from 18 to 30 years old passionate about coaching young people, with good communication skills. While always teaming up with the schools' teachers, educators and Planet Citizens' staff, the volunteer will be tasked with the following missions: - Assist sports teachers in local elementary schools (3-11 years old pupils) in preparing and conducting Physical Education lessons. - Create opportunities for pupils to practice English during PE lessons. - Participate to make the youth aware of European Citizenship and mobility. - Create opportunities for the club's members to practice English during and outside training sessions. - Get involved in the development of the "Sport & Languages" pedagogical method. - Get involved in the local community. Mission from 1st March 2026 to 31th August 2026. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The volunteer will share a furnished flat with two other european volunteers. Accommodation costs during the mission is covered. A transportation card, allowing the volunteer to use all public transport in Paris area, and a bike are provided . 418€/month of mission (pocket money and activity cost) + Money to buy the montly transportation card. Training during the activity European Solidarity Corps training, by the French National Agency. Pedagogical meeting (Evalutation of the kids, impact measures, lesson preparation) Personal support for future individual projects Working alongside teachers, you will learn the French way of coaching and teaching. Participant profile Motivated profile who wants to have social positive impact. We are particularly looking for Physical Education graduates and sports coaches ; Elementary school student or with teaching experiences, looking for an experience abroad. We will also be happy to welcome and support sport enthusiasts with a motivation to help children in socially disadvantaged areas.
