Overview

Slezská diakonie Lýdie Volunteer opportunity: Social Activation Services and Physiotherapy LYDIE

Key Responsibilities
  • Visit Český Těšín and become a volunteer at LYDIE, a center dedicated to children and young adults with physical and mental disabilities, including those with autism, aged 2 to 26 years. The goal of the social activation services at LYDIE is to help develop and maintain the skills of children and young adults with disabilities in a supportive environment. We also aim to prevent their exclusion from social life through therapeutic activities and opportunities to interact with peers. **Activities:** As a volunteer, your primary role will be to support and assist our service users. In the mornings, you will accompany children and young adults to physiotherapy sessions and help them travel to and from school. You will assist with daily activities - helping them move around the center, dressing, and mealtime support. Additionally, the staff will need your help with positioning clients and preparing them for paraffin treatment. To learn more, please visit our website www.intervia.cz. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements 💸 Volunteer with us – Costs Covered! Thanks to the European Solidarity Corps, most of your expenses are sorted: - Private bedroom in a shared flat 🛏️ - Food allowance: 4200 CZK (~170 EUR)/month 🍽️ - Pocket money: 7 EUR/day 💰 - Travel covered: Flights & daily commute ✈️🚗 - Only pay for your own free-time activities 🎨🎢 Focus on the adventure, the experience, and making a real difference! 🌟 Training during the activity 🌟 Say YES to Volunteering with Slezská Diakonie! Join a vibrant group of international volunteers dedicated to bringing light to those in need. ✨ You will:
  • Engage in meaningful activities and outreach programs 💛
  • Impact the community 🌍
  • Build unforgettable experiences and friendships 🤝 You’ll participate in training seminars to support your growth, guided by a coordinator and supervisor. Slezská Diakonie fosters a safe environment where every volunteer feels valued and part of something bigger. Step in, make a difference, and embrace the adventure — together as a community! 🌈 Participant profile If you’re between 18 and 30, open-hearted, eager to grow your professional skills, and excited to embrace new experiences, this project is made for you! 🌟 Being patient, empathetic, easy-going, and willing to listen to clients—who may share repetitive stories—is essential. Additionally, you should be mentally and physically fit, as you will be assisting clients with limited mobility. A positive attitude, including a smile, is crucial when working with people, especially those with disabilities. Furthermore, being proactive and willing to learn the Czech language is important for this role.
