Giosef Italy Giovani Senza Frontiere APS Casapesenna, Italy Volunteer opportunity: Il Paguro Youth Center: A Home Beyond Borders
As a GIOSEF Italy volunteer, you’ll have the chance to support and inspire young people from diverse and challenging backgrounds through engaging daily activities and events. You’ll contribute to projects in communication, education, and youth engagement while developing valuable skills in media, social change, and intercultural collaboration. Working alongside local organisations, you’ll help create spaces for growth, connection, and shared learning among youth from all across Europe. This is more than volunteering — it’s a journey of cultural exchange, personal development, and positive impact. * Find us on social media: Instagram: @giosef_italy & @il_paguro_ostello TikTok: @giosef_italy Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Volunteers will stay at Il Paguro Ostello, our Youth Hostel and Community Center. The space offers shared work areas, a cosy common room, a fully equipped kitchen, and a charming garden — perfect for relaxing or connecting with others. Each month, volunteers receive a monthly allowance to cover food and pocket money. Travel costs to and from the project are reimbursed in accordance with EU budget guidelines, enabling you to focus on the experience without worrying about expenses. Training during the activity You will take part in an engaging training program that uses non-formal learning methods such as interactive workshops, group discussions, role-playing activities, and creative problem-solving exercises. The project will cover a range of topics, including facilitation techniques, intercultural awareness and sensitivity, effective social media strategies, and innovative approaches to youth engagement and empowerment. This hands-on approach will allow you to learn by doing, exchange ideas with peers, and develop practical skills that you can apply in real-life contexts. Participant profile We are looking for young people aged 18–30 who have a genuine interest in disadvantaged and isolated areas, as well as in working with youth at risk of marginalisation. This may include young people affected by social and economic barriers, such as limited access to quality education and work opportunities. We particularly value participants who are committed to making a positive impact and are eager to gain a deeper understanding of the criminal influence in Southern Italy, moving beyond stereotypes. Desirable skills and experiences (considered an asset, not exclusion criteria): - Knowledge of Italian - Experience with non-formal education methods - Experience working with minors - Event planning skills
