We are looking for kind-hearted and motivated helpers. We invite you to join our friendly team at a preschool in Latvia, Riga - to create an even better and more creative environment for children. Your contribution is invaluable, helping us care for our little explorers! What duties can you expect? We are looking for help in different areas, depending on your interests and skills: - Assistance in daily activities (helping teachers during lessons, playtime, mealtimes or walks) - Environment improvement (painting, gardening, small repairs) - Creative workshops (leading creative sessions) - Event organization (celebrations or themed days) Participant profile We are looking for warm-hearted, responsive, and motivated individuals who would like to contribute to children’s daily lives by helping to create a safe, creative, and positive environment in our preschool. 1. Personal Qualities and Attitude We especially value volunteers who demonstrate: Positivity and Optimism – the ability to create a pleasant, calm, and encouraging atmosphere. Patience and Empathy – understanding the unique needs and emotional changes of young children. Responsiveness and Initiative – willingness to get involved, notice where help is needed, and offer support. Sense of Responsibility – reliability and precision regarding assigned duties. Flexibility – the ability to adapt to changing situations and the daily rhythm of children. 2. Skills and Experience Preferred but not always required: Communication Skills – the ability to communicate clearly and kindly with children, staff, and parents. Creativity and Playfulness – an interest in participating in children’s games and offering ideas for creative activities, storytelling, or singing. Practical Skills (Bonus) – anything useful in daily work: gardening, small repairs, sewing, leading sports or art activities. Basic Understanding of Child Development – general knowledge of young children’s behavior and needs. 3. Formal and Ethical Requirements Trustworthiness and Confidentiality – a very important requirement to protect children’s and the institution’s private information. Health Condition – good health and, if required, a medical check-up or certificate. Language Skills – knowledge of English, and after some time spent in Latvia, some words of the national language (Latvian) to ensure effective communication. Interest in Education – a desire to gain experience in the field of education or pedagogy. What Will You Gain? Valuable experience working with children.
