Overview

Seeking a Dental Assistant to provide clinical support within a Medical Squadron. This part-time role involves assisting the Dental Officer in delivering dental treatments and performing support tasks.

Tasks Summary

• Attend dental patients
• Make appointments
• Prepare the dental work area
• Assist the Dental Officer in dental treatments
• Brief patients on dental hygiene
• Perform minor dental laboratory work
• Ensure serviceability of dental equipment
• Operate dental / x-ray equipment and perform preventive maintenance
• Record dental diagnoses and maintain health records
• Ensure accuracy in patient records, appointment management, and treatment preparation
• Anticipate patient needs and ensure a positive patient experience

Experience Requirements

• At least 2 years current dental specialist/assistant experience
• Experience working in an international/military environment would be an asset

Qualification Requirements

• Secondary education and basic vocational training as a dental specialist/assistant OR Secondary education and basic training for specific task related skills, with 2 years’ experience
• Certified knowledge of radiation protection measures in connection with dental X-ray activities (in accordance with Host Nation standards or willing to complete a special training)
• Adequate knowledge of Automatic Data Processing (ADP) systems

Contract Duration: Initially a definite duration contract of three years
