Overview
The role involves contributing to the development, deployment, and maintenance of scalable systems for real-time data ingestion, analytics, and visualization, ensuring resilience, usability, and compliance with IT standards.
Tasks Summary
- Assist in data integration initiatives including near real-time data ingestion, processing, dashboards, bulletins and visualizations
- Deploy and maintain HungerMap LIVE features and data layers
- Support infrastructure maintenance activities
- Advise on software development practices
- Contribute to the harmonization of tools and development patterns
- Undertake field missions for country support, facilitate trainings
- Liaise with WFP’s IT department
- Create downloadable reports
- Document caching, security, and asynchronous flows
- Prepare handover notes for disaster recovery and system resilience strategies
Experience Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience in IT related field with a focus on Python, AWS & some React
- Experience with Git version control
- Experience with deployment strategies, Docker, Kubernetes continuous integration, Unit Testing
- Experience in React, Redux, and other front-end technologies
- Understanding of secure coding practices, authentication/authorization flows (OAuth2, JWT), and data protection
- Experience implementing role-based access control and audit logging
- Expertise in Python and its frameworks such as FastAPI, Django or Flask
Qualification Requirements
Master`s degree in engineering, computer science, physics, mathematics or similar or bachelor's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience
