Finance Specialist

The Finance Specialist will be responsible for transaction processing in Accounts Payables within the FAO Shared Services Centre.

Process Payment Request Forms (PRFs), including supplier invoices, held payments to consultants, and uncommitted invoices
Process staff entitlement related invoices
Review and approve various types of invoices
Review transactions, investigate errors, and reconcile accounts
Review and release Terminal Emoluments and Held salaries
Process accounting adjustments of paid invoices
Check accuracy of calculations, budget codes, and compliance with procedures
Participate in system improvements
Respond to enquiries regarding invoice processing
Report irregularities and discrepancies to the Supervisor
Follow up on aged AP items
Process international travel invoices cancellations
Help the preparation of SOPs
Participate in projects related to system improvements
Perform other duties as required

At least one year of relevant experience in the area of Finance.

Secondary School Education

Languages Required: Working knowledge (level C) of English

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another FAO official language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) would be an asset

Contract Duration: 11 months
