ILO Procurement Notice: Call for External Collaborator –Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) in Agriculture Consultant, ILO Cairo Office- Accelerate the Elimination of Child Labour: Improving Working Conditions and Empowering Families in the Jasmine Supply Chain (ACCEL Egypt)
The International Labour Office (ILO) is looking for an individual to undertake work as an External Collaborator. Below is a summary of the work to be performed. To introduce a sustainable, community-based model that integrates OSH awareness into its child protection and livelihood activities. The targeted groups include jasmine pickers and families involved in jasmine harvesting in the identified villages of Gharbia. By providing practical safety knowledge and promoting simple preventive measures, the project aims to build safer working environments, protect vulnerable children and adults, and contribute to the elimination of child labour in the jasmine supply ● Equip targeted beneficiaries with knowledge and tools to recognize key OSH risks in jasmine harvesting, including hazards related to nighttime work, pesticide exposure, and poor field conditions. ● Develop and deliver a participatory ToT training package adapted to the local context. ● Introduce practical demonstrations on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and promote hygiene and safety practices. ● Ensure targeted beneficiaries are equipped with knowledge of ILO OSH principles and community-based safety promotion, while also building practical skills such as safe hazard identification, handling of pesticides, use of protective equipment, basic first aid, and safe work practices adapted to jasmine harvesting conditions.
