Overview
Support the Deputy Director of Field Management in overseeing IRC operations in Gaza, ensuring smooth implementation of field activities, security management, staff support, and external coordination.
Tasks Summary
- Support day-to-day management of IRC’s Gaza field operations
- Act as deputy to the DDFM in their absence
- Supervise field teams
- Ensure close coordination across IRC departments
- Take the lead in Managing IRC’s Gaza city office
- Support the implementation of IRC’s safety and security protocols
- Monitor the context and provide timely updates
- Act as security focal point in the absence of the DDFM or HASS Manager
- Coordinate security planning and systems
- Conduct regular discussions to address staff’s sense of security
- Ensure the field office(s) has an up-to-date Security Management Plan
- Provide day-to-day supervision, mentoring, and support to field staff
- Support staff wellbeing initiatives
- Ensure compliance with IRC HR policies, safeguarding, and Code of Conduct
- Ensure new field office staff receive well-structured orientation and onboarding
- Lead by example and support IRC’s commitment to taking all necessary preventive measures
- Model accountability and commitment to safeguarding all staff
- Model accountability and commitment to wellbeing of all staff
- Represent IRC in relevant coordination forums
- Strengthen relationships with local authorities, UN agencies, INGOs, and community representatives
- Lead the preparation of donor visits and visits by important entities
- Identifies internal and external coordination gaps
- Oversee logistics, supply chain, and administrative functions at field level
- Ensure effective use of resources and adherence to policies
- Contribute to contingency and emergency preparedness planning
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in humanitarian/NGO field operations
- At least 3 years in a coordination or management role
- Experience working in complex settings supporting operations teams
- Experience in program delivery/implementation (any sector(s))
- Experience in operations functions of Supply Chain, IT, Safety and Security, and/or Finance
- Experience in external representation and coordination with diverse stakeholders
Qualification Requirements
• University degree in international relations, humanitarian studies, management, or a related field a plus
