Overview

Providing substantive support to the Chief, Representative Office in Cairo with bilateral and multilateral engagements and briefings. Positioning the Agency within UN initiatives and events in Egypt, producing a quarterly newsletter and maintaining social media accounts.

Tasks Summary

• Produce quarterly newsletters in Arabic and English and ad hoc press releases.
• Create and disseminate communication materials per UNRWA guidelines.
• Manage daily content for social media channels.
• Produce advocacy and fundraising messaging.
• Organize media interviews and press engagements.
• Foster relationships with journalists and media outlets.
• Participate in UN Communication Group meetings.
• Support the organization of UNRWA events in Cairo.
• Prepare reports, briefings, talking points and speeches.
• Collect and analyze local and regional media information.
• Respond to queries related to contributions and the Gaza crisis.

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications, public relations, media relations and/or public affairs.
• Experience in a multicultural environment.
• Experience in social media content creation and outreach.
• Experience in drafting concise communication campaigns.
• Experience in similar positions with the UN is an advantage.

Qualification Requirements

• A university degree from an accredited educational institution in journalism, communications, electronic media, digital communications, public or international relations or related fields.

Other Details

Languages Required: Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.

Contract Duration: 01 February 2026 – 31 May 2026, renewable upon satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Work Modality: Cairo

Remuneration: Fee-related deliverables with ceiling of $1,512.5 Gross/month.
