Overview

Support the establishment and implementation of systems to promote evidence-based decision-making and programme performance across the North-East office and sub-office. Contribute to quality programming through access to and promotion of relevant information on programme scale, relevance, and effectiveness.


Tasks Summary
  • Support and contribute to the development and implementation of MEL systems, including SOPs, guidance, and workplans.
  • Actively contribute to grants-related tasks such as proposal and log frame development and reporting.
  • Participate in programme design and proposal discussions.
  • Work with local partners to ensure adequate MEL systems, processes, and SoPs.
  • Support programme staff in planning for and executing MEL activities.
  • Support the implementation, dissemination, and use of evaluations, assessments, and monitoring data.
  • Contribute to organisational learning through supporting specific analysis and facilitating lessons learned discussions.
  • Capacity building and training of programme and MEL support staff.
  • Contribute to the design of MEL staffing structure and resourcing.
  • Adherence to NRC policies, and a specific responsibility for NRC MEL functions, policies, and procedures.
  • Team management responsibilities including performance management, workforce planning, recruitment, staff induction, staff development, and Duty of Care.
  • Develop assessment tools, methodologies, sampling strategies, and guidelines.
  • Design and implement relevant learning plans.
  • Support partner organisations to understand core MEL and reporting requirements.
  • Support data quality and compliance checks.
  • Lead the documentation and provision of timely MEL reports/dashboards/factsheets/learning papers.
  • Identify knowledge gaps and provide capacity building and training.
  • Work closely with partners’ programme/MEL teams.
  • Facilitate and coordinate third-party monitoring requests.

Experience Requirements
  • Experience in supporting and contributing to the development and implementation of MEL systems, including SOPs, guidance, and workplans.
  • Experience in grants-related tasks such as proposal and log frame development and reporting.
  • Experience in programme design and proposal discussions.
  • Experience working with local partners to ensure adequate MEL systems, processes, and SoPs.
  • Experience supporting programme staff in planning for and executing MEL activities.
  • Experience supporting the implementation, dissemination, and use of evaluations, assessments, and monitoring data.
  • Experience contributing to organisational learning through supporting specific analysis and facilitating lessons learned discussions.
