UN Secretariat Procurement Notice: ACTUARIAL CONSULTING SERVICES FOR THE UNJSPF
1.The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF or the Fund) is seeking to engage a consulting firm for the provision of actuarial consulting services, as the Fund’s Consulting Actuary under Article 11 of the UNJSPF Regulations (https://www.unjspf.org/regulations-and-rules/). 2. The Consulting Actuary is required to complete the biennial actuarial valuations of the Fund every even numbered year. In addition, every odd numbered year the Consulting Actuary will complete an experience analysis of each assumption used in the actuarial valuation and provide recommendations to the Committee of Actuaries on the assumptions to be used in the upcoming valuation. 3. During the contract period and subject to the United Nations terms and conditions set forth for contractual agreements, the Consulting Actuary will provide the following services to the UNJSPF: - Actuarial services for non valuation year (odd numbered years) which includes review of the Fund, recommendations with notes and analysis among others - Actuarial services for valuation year (Even numbered years) including actuarial valuation as of 31 Dec every year, production of final report, reporting, calculation of emerging actuarial cost among others - Standard Actuarial advice- all years - Attend meetings with different Committes and Board Detailed scope of work will be provided under the upcoming Request for Proposal (RFP). Duration of the Contract- Initial period of 4 year with 2 optional extension of 2 years each (i.e. 4+2+2) Please note that this is not a solcitation process. This is just to receive interest of the intersted service providers (i.e. consulting firms). Vendors who have no current or prior experience in Actuarial Services do not need to submit interest. Specific Requirements/Information The following criteria may be applied in the upcoming solicitation: - Prior experience in conducting Actuarial Services - Personnel qualification and experience - Leadership and communication - Process and outputs - Alignment of proposal with the required scope of work - Transition management from the current services This Request for Expression of Interest (REOI) is intended for consulting companies and not Individuals.
