Overview
Supports and advises the Assistant Director-General/Regional Representative in the overall leadership, management, administration and supervision of the Regional Office, Subregional Office, and Decentralized Office network.
Tasks Summary
- Assists with the formulation of regional strategic direction and programmatic planning.
- Coordinates and oversees the preparation of progress reports to FAO Governing Bodies.
- Manages, provides oversight and coordinates the Decentralized Offices network in the region.
- Assists in providing strategic guidance to promote effective regional partnerships and communications strategy.
- Supports the implementation of the UN Development System repositioning and alignment of FAO's activities.
- Oversees the execution of the region’s activities and ensures sound internal controls.
- Supports the Assistant Director-General/Regional Representative in managing human resources and promoting an organizational culture of respect.
- Supports the Assistant Director-General/Regional Representative in defining and implementing a regional strategy for resource mobilization.
- May serve as the FAO Representative (FAOR) to the host country, where applicable.
Experience Requirements
Minimum twelve (12) years of relevant managerial and professional experience in fields related to the mandate of FAO including experience at international level.
Qualification Requirements
Advanced university degree in an area relevant to the work of the Organization (e.g. social sciences, public policy or administration, agriculture, forestry, fisheries, engineering, veterinary, economics, etc.).
