Overview
The Programme Officer (SSTC) role supports the coordination of activities related to resource mobilization and programme development, contributing to the development of Country Programming Frameworks and UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Frameworks.
Tasks Summary
- Carries out basic research on selected aspects of programmes, operations and other activities.
- Collects, analyses and presents statistical data and other information.
- Provides substantive support for policy coordination and evaluation functions.
- Participates in survey initiatives; issues data collection tools, reviews, analyses and interprets responses.
- Contributes to the preparation of various written outputs.
- Undertakes outreach activities; participates in the development of training workshops, seminars.
- Participates in field missions.
- Coordinates activities related to budget funding and preparation of related documents.
- Supports the coordination of activities related to resource mobilization and programme development.
- Contributes to the development of the Country Programming Frameworks (CPF) and UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF).
- Collaborates with and supports FAO's Offices, Centres, Divisions and Decentralized Offices.
- Networks with potential strategic partners to explore SSTC partnerships and financing opportunities.
- Supports the development of outreach and advocacy plans focusing on SSTC.
- Supports the implementation of corporate advocacy activities, special events and exhibits.
- Identifies key messages, stories, events and other opportunities which promote the work and achievements of PST.
Experience Requirements
- Three years of relevant experience in project or programme management, outreach, administration or related area.
- Work experience in more than one location or area of work, particularly in field positions, is desirable.
- Extent and relevance of experience in project or programme management, or related area.
- Extent and relevance of experience in resource mobilization including SSTC, donor intelligence and coordination.
- Extent and relevance of experience in strategic partnerships development, and implementation, including with donors, media, FAO member nations, private sector, civil society.
- Extent and relevance of experience in the development of outreach and advocacy plans, including on SSTC, as well as the production of content for external audiences and for awareness raising platforms would be an asset.
- Extent and relevance of experience in project design and programming, including SSTC arrangements, would be desirable.
- Understanding of FAO policies and programmes is considered a strong asset.
Qualification Requirements
• Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration or public administration, social science, political science or a related field.
