Tasks Summary

Culture Centre of Pomiechówek Commune creates culture for and with the inhabitants. It organizes art, handicraft, music, yoga and theatre classes for visitors of the commune, working with people from 1 to 100 years old. The volunteer adds an intercultural dimension to GOK activities and brings new initiatives. There are many chances to interact with the local community and introduce your own culture. Tasks: -Intercultural and language workshops in the center and schools, language cafe -Help during meetings of local clubs -Support at art classes like painting or handicrafts -Preparation of decorations for events -Technical help during projects like theatre meetings for children and the Artbazar fair -Own initiatives, also in cooperation with the library volunteer. Infopack: https://www.spw.ngo/pomiechowek-culture-center-infopack Accommodation, food and transport arrangements Accommodation: 2 volunteers will live in a house shared with its owners. They will stay in a flat on the first floor, while the owners live on the ground floor. Their part of the house includes its own kitchen and bathroom. - Food: Each volunteer receives 150 EUR/month and is responsible for cooking their own meals - Pocket money: 180 EUR per month - Language support: Online language course (OLS) provided by the program - International travel: Reimbursement up to 211 EUR, 309 EUR or 395 EUR depending on the distance* (*Additional funds may be available for "green travel") Training during the activity Orientation training (coordinating organization): introduction to the project, getting to know the coordinators and the organization, integration with other volunteers and mentors, planning - On-arrival training (National Agency): Getting to know Poland, ESC introduction (5 days) - Mid-term evaluation meeting (National Agency, 5 days) - Final evaluation (coordinating organization) - Evaluation meetings/trainings (coordinating organization): intercultural education, learning, cultural adaptation, and communication (once every two months). Participant profile Interested in creative activities and culture (art, music, dance, theatre, etc.) - Friendly, making relationships with people easily - Willing to work with people of different ages (from small children to seniors) - Communicative English - Independent, sociable, has their own ideas and initiative, and is ready to implement them - Reliable and diligent - Flexible, ready to work without a fixed schedule and adapt to the event calendar (within the frame of maximum 38 hours a week)
