Overview
Supports emergency response management by creating content and managing information to meet stakeholder, donor, and partner requirements while engaging media to highlight impact. Monitors and reports reputational risks and ensures compliance with safe communication policies.
Tasks Summary
- Gather, develop and deliver evidence-based, child and community-focused resources and contents that capture and highlight ongoing emergency/disaster responses.
- Support engagement with the media to raise awareness on impact of the response or results.
- Collaborate with other Response functions and WVDF units.
- Coordinate with Information Management to provide situation updates and other relevant contents.
- Ensure adherence to safe communication, content gathering, sharing practices per WV policy and standards and partner requirements.
- Review IECs, Information provision/accountability and other resources of the response.
- Monitor and report Response Management reputational risks issues associated with the response.
- Participate and contribute in team activities.
Experience Requirements
- At least three to five years experience in a similar position or capacity in humanitarian and emergency context.
- Ability to work in highly complex and risky environments, including highly sensitive areas.
- Preferably with industry experience in news and media agencies, advertising, and/or NGO humanitarian work.
- Experience with NGO or humanitarian work especially during disasters or emergencies highly preferred.
- Experienced in working within high-stress, challenging environments, including extreme weather conditions.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s/College Degree in Development of Mass Communications or Journalism or equivalent.
