Overview

Save the Children is seeking a Project Officer – Inclusive P-Class Roll Out to support the implementation and institutionalisation of Malawi’s P-Class reform under the Inclusive Foundational Learning programme. The role will strengthen inclusive foundational learning by improving early entry into formal schooling and increasing community awareness and demand for P-Class services.

Tasks Summary

• Support rollout of P-Class wrap-around services, inclusive screening tools, and community-level social and behaviour change (SBC) activities.
• Contribute to planning, coordination, monitoring, learning documentation, and safeguarding.
• Ensure alignment with national education and early learning standards.
• Work outside the normal role profile and vary working hours in the event of a major humanitarian emergency.

Experience Requirements

• At least 3–5 years’ experience supporting education or early learning programmes.
• Practical experience working with education authorities, schools, and community structures.
• Demonstrated understanding of Malawi’s P-Class policy, foundational learning, and inclusive education.
• Experience supporting community mobilisation or social and behaviour change (SBC) activities.
• Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders, including government and development partners.
• Basic experience in monitoring, data collection, and reporting.
• Experience working with World Bank-, UNICEF-, or Roger Federer Foundation-supported programmes is an added advantage.

Qualification Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree in Education, Inclusive Education, Early Childhood Development, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Training in inclusive education, disability screening, SBC, or education systems strengthening is an added advantage.

Languages Required: • Fluency in written and spoken English

Languages Preferred: • Chichewa and/or Tumbuka strongly preferred

Contract Duration: Permanent

Work Modality: with regular travel to district and community sites and occasional travel to Mzuzu and Lilongwe
