Overview

The consultant will jointly coordinate and lead a panel to assess the overall governance and functioning of the Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS). The assessment will identify opportunities for improvement in resource management and reporting on work program implementation.

Tasks Summary

• Jointly coordinate and lead an assessment panel.
• Undertake an assessment of the overall governance and functioning of OIOS.
• Provide information on key internal structure and process changes taken by OIOS.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the management of OIOS resources.
• Identify opportunities for reporting on the implementation of its programme of work.
• Prepare a final capping report on this work to the Under-Secretary-General for Internal Oversight Services.

Experience Requirements

• At least 15 years of relevant professional experience in internal oversight in multilateral organizations.
• May include participation in organs involved in the governance of such institutions.

Qualification Requirements

• An advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in Audit, Evaluation, Political Science, International Affairs, Social Sciences, Law, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related field is required.

Languages Required: • Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Languages Preferred: • Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.

Contract Duration: • 6 months
