Overview

Consultant to produce enhanced Safety & Security content for the RITEC Design Toolbox (RDT) and update the RDT through stakeholder engagement and piloting.

Tasks Summary

• Map key additions to current RITEC Safety & Security coverage through key informant interviews.
• Translate safety-by-design knowledge into actionable design guidance.
• Develop additional content and integrate it into an updated RDT with strengthened RITEC Safety & Security dimension.
• Collaborate with UNICEF teams, project partners, designers, and a Community of Practice, consolidating feedback and ensuring final production of outputs.

Experience Requirements

Minimum 3 years of work experience in one of the following areas: designing digital products or services for children or children’s rights in the digital environment, design research in the gaming sector, video game design, or Trust and Safety specialization. Proven experience in producing toolkits or guidance for game designers or tech developers.

Qualification Requirements

Advanced University degree in Design, Gaming, Technology, Social Science, Psychology or other demonstrably relevant discipline.

Languages Preferred: Ability to speak another official UN language. A relevant PhD.
