This internship supports peacekeeping missions in addressing harmful speech, including mis- and disinformation and hate speech, which threaten the safety and security of peacekeepers and mission mandates. The intern will assist in research, monitoring, analysis, and the production of various documents and materials.
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Experience in supporting the development of policies, papers, guidelines, training materials, presentations, and visualizations is desirable. Experience in conducting research and analysis is desirable.
Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's or PH.D. Programme.
Languages Required: Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship.
Languages Preferred: Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
Contract Duration: 2-6 months
Work Modality: Flexible (Hybrid, Remote, or In-person)
Remuneration: Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
