Tasks Summary

Our volunteering project involves 3 motivated volunteers from different countries. They will take part for 10 months, from April 2026, working with Amycos in the city of Burgos and its province. They will be involved and assigned amongst these main lines: - Global Citizenship Education, for people (mainly children) from the local community, by helping the organization with the start-up of courses, workshops, and different types of events related to sustainable development and solidarity; - Social Action, with its volunteers, collaborating with other organizations in Burgos, carrying out daily support to immigrant people of the city in conditions of scarcity through language classes, school support, and leisure activities; - Project Management and Promotion of local and international volunteering, through the creation of meetings, educational workshops, cultural and solidarity events, and the management of European, and international cooperation and educational projects. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements The volunteers will be hosted at an apartment chosen by Amycos by the basic qualitative standards. Specifically, accommodation will be in the city of Burgos (in a single room) depending on availability. Sharing of common spaces will be encouraged with other volunteers; although the privacy of the volunteers will be respected. Accommodation will be in charge of Amycos and the volunteer will receive monthly 180 € for Food plus Pocket Money 180 €. Burgos is a small city and it’s not necessary to use local transport daily. Training during the activity Once they arrive, the volunteers will be assisted by the project coordinator and will be assigned a tutor for each activity. The coordinator will show the volunteers how the association works and what kind of activities they will develop during their stay. These volunteers will also have a mentor who will help them with more strictly personal matters. Also, there will be several activities such as “Reinforced Mentorship” to reflect on learnings, to improve the ability to work in a team, facilitate relationships and community inclusion, and cultural understanding in general. Participant profile Interest in the project: The volunteers have to participate fully in the project having the desire to contribute actively to the Amycos goals connected with fair social change to sustainable development. Experiences and competencies: It's not necessary but we value past experiences in the educational sector positively and the sensitivity to social issues such as immigration, cultural differences, and poverty. Personality: We need positive, flexible, and willing people able to work in-group and in a multicultural context. Spanish language skills will be appreciated.
