Overview
The Provincial Advocacy Coordinator supports local implementing partners in two districts within a province to advocate for district policies and budgets that support teacher's professional development, school-based protection of children, and public awareness and support for pre-school education.
Tasks Summary
- Help local partners convene and support multi-stakeholder district forums.
- Ensure participatory reviews of district education data, policies, and budgets.
- Oversee the development and implementation of district-specific advocacy strategies and workplans.
- Support the identification and engagement of new stakeholders.
- Map capacity gaps among local actors and coordinate capacity strengthening.
- Support coordination between district government offices, schools, civil society organisations, and community groups.
- Ensure partners understand and apply KREASI’s advocacy approach and tools.
- Support partners to design context-relevant, evidence-based advocacy solutions and action plans.
- Provide hands-on technical support to implementing partners on policy analysis, budget tracking, and use of learning data for advocacy.
- Build partners’ skills in stakeholder engagement, coalition building, and facilitation of collaborative forums.
- Mentor partner field staff to develop and implement district-specific advocacy objectives, messages, and influencing strategies.
- Establish and maintain clear communication and coordination mechanisms.
- Represent Save the Children at district coordination meetings.
- Support organisation of joint field visits.
- Ensure strong information flow between district partners and the provincial and national KREASI team.
- Monitor progress against district advocacy objectives and track key milestones and results.
- Facilitate regular reflection meetings with partners.
- Support iterative improvement of advocacy strategies.
- Document good practices, case studies, and policy wins.
- Ensure all advocacy and partnership activities comply with KREASI and Save the Children policies.
- Promote transparency, inclusion, and meaningful participation of diverse community voices.
- Prepare and submit monthly progress updates.
- Produce activity and field visit reports.
- Contribute to quarterly and annual project reporting.
- Provide regular briefings and updates to provincial and regional management.
- Contribute to implementing partners are aware and are actively involved in building and maintaining the Save the Children and KREASI brand.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project coordination or management, preferably within an NGO or development context.
- Experience developing and implementing district-level advocacy strategies focused on policy change and budget allocations.
- Proven experience in managing partnerships and working with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the local context and challenges within the province and districts.
Qualification Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Education, Public Administration or a related field.
