Overview
Support the adaptation of global resources to promote positive masculinities and strengthen boys' engagement in education within the Namibian context.
Tasks Summary
- Conduct a contextual analysis of Namibian education policies, curriculum, research, and socio-cultural norms.
- Review global guides and identify adaptation needs for the Namibian context.
- Engage national stakeholders through consultative meetings and interviews.
- Adapt four global guides to align with Namibia’s curriculum, classroom realities, cultural contexts, and community norms.
- Facilitate a validation workshop with stakeholders to review and refine adapted materials.
- Produce final, validated versions of the adapted materials.
- Develop training materials for curriculum developers and master teacher trainers.
- Conduct training sessions for curriculum developers and master teachers.
Experience Requirements
- At least 4 years of relevant professional experience in the development of inclusive teaching and learning materials and/or capacity building in this area at the national and/or international level.
- Experience in delivering trainings.
- Strong coordination skills and ability to interact with a wide range of partners and stakeholders, including government.
- Work experience in the UN or experience with assignments for the UN (desirable).
- Experience in the development and review of teaching and learning materials (desirable).
- Work experience in the area of masculinities/boys’ disengagement from education (desirable).
Qualification Requirements
• Advanced degree in Education, Gender, Development Studies, Social Sciences or a related field.
