Overview
The Women’s Protection and Empowerment Program Outreach Officer will implement targeted activities to prevent gender-based violence (GBV) and empower women, while strengthening the capacity of GBV service providers. This role is key in developing and delivering gender-sensitive messaging to diverse audiences.
Tasks Summary
- Adhere to and promote a women- and girl-centered approach and GBV guiding principles.
- Facilitate awareness-raising sessions on GBV for women and girls at risk, survivors, and service providers.
- Disseminate critical information on available services for GBV survivors.
- Maintain reporting on qualitative and quantitative indicators and complete relevant forms.
- Develop gender-sensitive messages and awareness-raising materials.
- Organize and implement awareness campaigns on GBV.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of outreach initiatives.
- Participate in the collection, analysis, and submission of information on key protection risks.
- Prepare reports to inform planning and implementation of activities.
- Conduct needs assessments for women and adolescent girls and organize dignity kit distribution.
- Organize and facilitate group sessions using program materials.
- Participate in crisis response and provide initial psychological support.
- Participate in training events and share acquired knowledge.
- Develop and deliver training activities for service providers.
- Develop a cooperation network with service providers and stakeholders.
- Present the Program at working groups and external events.
- Coordinate information dissemination channels for GBV-related information.
- Participate in the development of an action plan for GBV educational activities.
- Ensure proper, safe, and confidential referrals of GBV survivors.
- Prepare weekly and monthly activity and achievement reports.
Experience Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in community engagement, mobilization, and work with women and girls affected by armed conflict.
- Strong understanding and commitment to the well-being of women and girls, and support for their healing after experiences of violence.
- Experience in facilitating group activities, training sessions, workshops, and mentoring others.
- Experience in developing and conducting training programs/workshops.
Qualification Requirements
• Higher education in social work, human rights, psychology, public health, humanities, or a related field.
