Overview

The consultancy's objective is to review, align, and revise the current Yemen guidelines (2013) with the most recent WHO guidelines (2023) on the treatment and prevention of wasting.

Tasks Summary
  • Reviewing the current National CMAM Guidelines and identifying gaps and areas for alignment with the new WHO guidelines/recommendations.
  • Ensure extensive and inclusive consultation with all relevant stakeholders in the internationally recognized government (IRG) are to obtain their acceptance and support in revising and adopting the latest WHO recommendations.
  • Updating and revising the National CMAM Guidelines to incorporate the latest WHO recommendations on the management of wasting and nutritional oedema.
  • Ensuring that the revised guidelines are comprehensive, evidence-based, and contextually appropriate for Yemen.
  • Develop a comprehensive training package aligned with the draft revised guidelines.
  • Develop the program design for the field-testing of the draft revised CMAM guidelines, incorporating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the roll-out of the field-testing.
  • Develop a monitoring and evaluation plan, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to assess the effectiveness and impact of the pilot program.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 7 years of senior level experience in leading national level engagement of government agencies, stakeholders, decentralized planning and working with development partners and networks on decentralized services
  • Expertise in nutrition programming, particularly in the management of wasting and nutritional oedema is an advantage.
  • Experience in the design, planning, implementation, monitoring and coordination of Nutrition in Emergencies projects and Programmes.
  • In-depth knowledge of international guidelines and best practices related to nutrition and child health, with specific familiarity with WHO guidelines on wasting.
  • Experience in developing national nutrition guidelines and a solid knowledge of the CMAM approach and/or practice.
  • Experience in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEAL), including assessing effectiveness of guidelines.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting guideline reviews, gap analyses, and developing technical documents for the nutrition sector.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Previous experience working in Yemen or similar contexts would be an asset.
  • Experience with working with UN Agencies, NGOs and governments.
Qualification Requirements

• Master’s degree in public health, nutrition, medicine, or a related field.

Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in English is required.

Languages Preferred: • Knowledge of Arabic will be an added advantage.

Contract Duration: • 6 Months

Work Modality: • Home Based

Remuneration: • Candidates are required to provide an all-inclusive fee proposal (in U.S.D) as part of their application. It is better to attach a table which shall include fees for the deliverables, living allowance, accommodation, and travel cost.
