Overview
Provide support to Fiji's super pollutant agenda, ensuring project completion and supporting regional and international engagement on super pollutant issues. Offer policy and technical advice for mitigation policies and their implementation.
Tasks Summary
- Support the CCAC Focal Point in coordinating national SLCP planning, policy, and implementation efforts.
- Coordinate CCAC activities in Fiji.
- Assist in developing proposals for accessing climate finance for mitigation projects.
- Provide expert policy and technical advice for super pollutant mitigation measures.
- Coordinate super pollutant projects supported by the CCAC and other development partners.
- Support the integration of SLCP mitigation measures into Fiji’s updated Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).
- Collaborate with CCAC from across national government departments.
- Identify new opportunities for engagement with the CCAC.
Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience working in a field relevant to environmental management/science, climate change, economics, health, project management, finance, administration.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical assistance to governments and other stakeholders is required.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups including national governments is required.
- Knowledge of the national policies in climate change mitigation and air pollution is required.
- Experience working on climate change mitigation is desirable.
- Ability to work with advanced formulas in Excel spreadsheet is desirable.
Qualification Requirements
• Master’s degree or an equivalent qualification in a subject related to environmental management/science, economics, health, project management, finance, administration, or in a relevant field.
