Overview
Support the evaluation function in UNICEF's East Asia and Pacific Regional Office (EAPRO) by assisting with the implementation of the Global Evaluation Policy and Regional Evaluation Strategy, and providing technical support to Country Offices.
Tasks Summary
- Support country-led evaluations, including Country Programme Evaluations.
- Provide technical and coordination support to After Action Reviews (AARs).
- Support the dissemination of evaluation findings through workshops, webinars, and preparation of communication materials.
- Synthesize lessons learned across evaluations for regional learning products.
- Support the testing and dissemination of innovative and AI-enabled evaluation tools and methods.
- Facilitate coordination and reporting for evaluation activities.
- Support transition activities for the establishment of the new Asia Pacific Regional Office (APRO).
- Provide meeting support to Regional Management Team (RMT) meetings.
- Support coordination of transition-related activities involving EAPRO, ROSA, and Centres of Excellence (CoE).
- Respond to requests from the Regional Director and Front Office, including preparing country briefing materials.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of two years of progressively responsible professional experience related to planning, implementation, coordination, and management of monitoring, evaluation, and research activities.
- Familiarity with UNICEF evaluation procedures, with direct involvement in the conduct of evaluations.
- Experience participating in UN/UNICEF evaluations is required.
- Experience conducting evaluations for UN agencies, preferably including UNICEF or major bilateral donor country programmes.
- Familiarity with UNEG Norms and Standards, Ethical Guidelines, and the UNICEF Evaluation Policy.
- Experience working with evaluation offices of UN organizations is required.
- Experience working in developing country contexts, with experience in the East Asia and Pacific (EAP) region preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams, manage independent consultants, and engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualification Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in social sciences is required.
- Certificate in evaluation or equivalent qualifications is an advantage.
