Overview

The Programme Analyst is responsible for the management of UNDP programmes within assigned thematic/sectoral areas, analyzing trends, leading programme formulation and evaluation, and providing policy advice.

Tasks Summary
  • Substantively contribute to formulation and implementation of UNDP programme strategies and policies.
  • Ensure effective management of the CO programme within assigned thematic/sector areas.
  • Ensure creation of strategic partnerships and implementation of the resource mobilization strategy.
  • Ensure provision of top-quality advisory services and facilitation of knowledge building and management.
  • Supervise programme and project staff.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years (with master’s degree) or 4 years (with bachelor’s degree) of relevant experience at the national and/or international level in providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development portfolios and projects in Environmental Sustainability or related thematic area is required.
  • Experience in managing large project portfolios - including concept development, resource mobilization and partnership management is required.
  • Experience in the design and management of climate change, ecosystem management, climate/environment, finance-related, and/or sustainable production & consumption initiatives is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordination with national and sub national authorities as well as local communities and private sector is required.
  • Experience in supervising two Direct Reports or more is required.
  • Knowledge of green finance instruments and mechanisms at the international and national levels is required.
  • Experience in developing and managing partnerships and coordination mechanisms with cooperation agencies and other partner organizations is required.
  • Experience in the use of computers, office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.), database packages, and/or web-based management systems such as ERP is required.
Qualification Requirements
  • Advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Environmental Management, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Policies, Climate Change, or other relevant area including Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences, or related field is required or
  • A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Languages Required: Fluency in Spanish and English is required

Languages Preferred: Knowledge of another UN language is desirable

Contract Duration: 1 Year with Possibility for extension
