This project offers a unique opportunity to not only have a great learning experience, but to make a difference in the lives of others. Our focus lies on inclusion (helping everyone feel part of the community) and sustainability (caring for the environment). You will be part of a team that consists of youthworkers, volunteers, and Salesians of Don Bosco. Together with one other long-term volunteer your main tasks will be supporting a local Youth Center with their activities. Aside from that, you will support a local youth camp during one of their summer camps, help with ecological maintenaince, clean accommodations, assist with international Erasmus+ projects, and learn about hospitality- or project management. Accomodation will be provided for you in Assel. You will have your own room while sharing the bathroom, kitchen, and living room with the other volunteers. Some lunches and dinners will be organized with the local community. For other meals volunteers are free to cook together or for themselves in their own kitchen. Several bicycles are available, as well as a car belonging to the association. Having a drivers licence is preferred as the venue is not easily accessible by public transport. Training during the activity During your stay you will work closely with youth workers and help them organize activities by and for young people. Furthermore, you will participate in, and help plan international youth exchanges, trainings, and cultural events. Here you will gain experience in working with young people from different backgrounds, especially those facing challenges. Additionally, you will also assist our hospitality and project manager with day-to-day operations. You will be also part of the official trainings organized by the National Agency. Participant profile We are looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic, open-minded, and motivated and who want to make a positive impact on society, learn new skills, and live in and experience a different country and culture.
