Overview

Online Volunteers will translate assigned sections of a National Plan document from Spanish to English, ensuring accuracy of terminology and maintaining the formal tone and structure of an official document.

Tasks Summary

• Translate assigned sections of the National Plan (Spanish to English).
• Ensure accuracy of terminology, especially policy and volunteerism-related terms.
• Maintain the formal tone and structure of an official government/UN document.
• Preserve formatting elements such as headings, tables, and annex references.
• Flag any unclear or ambiguous sections for clarification.
• Coordinate with fellow translators to ensure consistency in terminology and style.
• Participate in final harmonization to ensure coherence across the full 375-page document.

Experience Requirements

• Strong written proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Demonstrated experience in translation of policy, governmental, or institutional documents.
• Familiarity with development terminology and volunteerism concepts.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain consistency across long documents.
• Ability to work independently while coordinating with a small remote team.
• Ability to work in Microsoft Word or compatible editing platforms.
• Experience maintaining formatting integrity during translation.
• Familiarity with track changes and collaborative document review processes.
