Overview

Develop a comprehensive teacher training package on foundational learning skills and deliver training to lead trainers.

Tasks Summary
  • Development of a comprehensive teacher training package on foundational learning skills (literacy and numeracy) for primary education.
  • Integration of a clear sustainability strategy into the training package.
  • Design and delivery of Training-of-Trainers (ToT) for selected MoE and GDoE lead trainers.
  • Support to GDoEs in developing practical action plans for cascading the training to school level.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressively responsible experience in foundational literacy and numeracy programming, particularly in early primary grades.
  • Proven skills, knowledge, and/or experience in designing and delivering teacher professional development programs, including Training-of-Trainers (ToT) models at scale.
  • Proven skills, knowledge, and/or experience in inclusive education approaches.
  • Proven skills, knowledge, and/or experience in early grade assessment frameworks and evidence-based structured pedagogy approaches for foundational skills.
  • Proven skills, knowledge, and/or experience in developing high-quality training materials, facilitator guides, and monitoring & evaluation tools.
  • Experience working with government education systems, including collaboration with Ministries of Education and sub-national education authorities.
  • Prior experience in fragile, conflict-affected, or humanitarian contexts; Middle East experience is an asset.
  • Strong workshop/training facilitation, coaching and mentoring, stakeholder coordination, and capacity-building skills.
  • Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualification Requirements

• Advanced university degree (master’s or higher) in Education, Curriculum Development, Educational Psychology, Inclusive Education, or related field.

Other Details

Languages Required: • Fluency in spoken and written English.

Languages Preferred: • Fluency in Arabic is strongly desired.

Contract Duration: 123 days within 12 months

Work Modality: remote with travels to Iraq
