The Team Leader, Democratic Governance and Peacebuilding (DGP) position supports the Country Office in advancing its response to democratic governance developments in Ethiopia. The role leads the Democratic Governance and Peacebuilding Unit and coordinates the team in effectively delivering the Democratic Governance and Peacebuilding Portfolio.
Minimum of 7 years (with master’s degree) or 9 years (with bachelor’s degree) of experience in advising governments and development partners on governance and public sector issues—including programme support, capacity development, policy advice, governance assessments, and monitoring and evaluation—with strong contextual knowledge of Ethiopia’s political and social environment, demonstrating political and contextual acumen.
Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in Governance Studies, Law, Political Science, Sociology, Public Policy, Peace and Security Studies, Development Studies, or equivalent social science field. Or A first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional 2 years of qualifying experience.
