Overview

The incumbent will support the emergency team in the development, modification, implementation, and management of information systems for health emergencies. This role aims to enhance health security and emergency risk management in the health sector.

Tasks Summary
  • Support early detection, verification, and reporting of public health events.
  • Strengthen indicator-based and event-based surveillance systems.
  • Coordinate with field personnel to collect and verify information on public health consequences and prepare situation reports.
  • Update 3W/4W matrix for health stakeholders involved in Emergency Risk Management.
  • Produce data visualizations, infographics, and summaries for reports and dashboards.
  • Prepare and update GIS maps of health facilities, affected populations, and operational spaces.
  • Support data collection, management, and analysis during emergencies.
  • Maintain organized datasets, metadata, and version control documentation.
  • Generate tables, graphs, and visual information products for reporting and decision-making.
  • Coordinate with Health Emergency Operation Centres and relevant Ministries.
  • Support inter-cluster and inter-sectoral coordination.
  • Maintain liaison with various networks for timely information flow.
  • Assist in capacity building for health emergency information management.
  • Facilitate development and implementation of training tools.
  • Maintain digital repositories and documentation for Programme activities.
  • Support periodic reporting for the WHE Programme.
  • Support onsite assessment of IT infrastructure and user support for digital health initiatives.
  • Support development, maintenance, and implementation of websites, platforms, and ICT tools.
  • Manage document and information repositories.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in information management or related area.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience with WHO and UN agencies is an asset.
Qualification Requirements
  • University degree in Computer Science, Information or Data Management, Information Technology, public health, statistics, or related degree.
  • Advanced university degree in any of the above-mentioned fields is desirable.
  • Specific training on humanitarian response, health emergencies, and information management will be an advantage.
Other Details

Languages Required: Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and Nepali

Languages Preferred:

Contract Duration: The duration of the contract will depend on the needs of the functions and availability of the funds.

Work Modality:

Remuneration: Monthly Salary: (Net of tax) NPR Rs 142,427.00 (Level VII) at a single rate (taxable as per Nepal Government laws and appointment will be through Special Services Agreement, SSA).
