Overview
The Associate National Project Officer - Education will lead the implementation of the Greening Education pillar of the HP FUTURES project and contribute to UNESCO’s greening education initiatives across South Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of the Greening Education pillar of HP FUTURES.
- Strengthen teacher capacity through district-level workshops on climate education.
- Support schools to develop action plans for Green School Quality Standards.
- Liaise with Government of Himachal Pradesh departments and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate co-creation of subject-wise greening lesson plans.
- Oversee integration of greening themes in PM SHRI schools.
- Coordinate Eco-Club activities.
- Contribute technically to UNESCO Regional Office for South Asia’s activities on Greening Education, Education for Sustainable Development, climate change education, and Global Citizenship Education.
- Engage with national counterparts and partner institutions across South Asia.
- Draft briefing notes and technical documents.
- Support development of communication and advocacy materials.
- Maintain project documentation and knowledge repository.
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the Director and the Chief of Education.
- Provide substantive, logistical and administrative support to projects, consultations, meetings, events and missions.
- Contribute to monitoring and reporting on project implementation and outputs.
Required Experience
Less than two (2) years of progressively responsible professional experience in education program implementation, project coordination, environmental education, or a related field.
Qualifications
Advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) preferably in Education, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Social Sciences or a related field.
