Overview
Develop and disseminate communications materials to showcase results of UNFPA initiatives funded by the Government of Australia. The role aims to amplify impact and visibility of UNFPA's achievements in areas such as maternal health, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and gender-based violence.
Key Responsibilities
- Documenting Stories of Impact on Maternal Health, Surrounding Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Gender-based Violence (GBV) and Harmful Practices(HP) programming in Asia Pacific.
- Developing and implementing communication plans on SRHR, GBV prevention, Violence Against Women(VAW) data, child marriage and female genital mutilation in Asia and the Pacific.
- Developing and Reviewing Communication Products/Campaigns.
- Knowledge Management: Support systematic and consistent documentation and maintenance of key resources, best practices and programme guidance documents.
- Disseminating Information.
- Contributing to Transparency and Accountability.
Required Experience
- At least 7–10 years of professional experience in communications, advocacy, and knowledge management, preferably within international development, sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), Gender-based Violence(GBV), or other externally funded programmes.
- Proven ability to document impact stories, interview stakeholders, and translate technical programme results into accessible, compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated experience in developing communication plans and products (reports, case studies, infographics, social media content, campaigns), ideally aligned with donor communication guidelines (e.g., DFAT).
- Solid experience in knowledge management, including maintaining microsites/pages, curating resources, and producing regular bulletins or updates.
Qualifications
- Advanced higher degree (Master’s or equivalent) in a relevant area, e.g in international Relations, social sciences or communications.
- A first-level university degree or equivalent in combination with relevant training and/or professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
