Overview

The Intern will support the Private Partnerships and SSTC team in strategic research, partner engagement, proposal development, marketing and positioning efforts, and coordination of high-level engagements. The role contributes to strengthening WFP India’s private sector pipeline, enhancing partnership visibility, and supporting cross-country knowledge exchange initiatives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct sectoral and market research to identify potential corporate, foundation, and CSR partners.
  • Map industry trends in ESG, CSR, climate resilience, food systems, digital transformation, and responsible AI.
  • Develop internal briefs summarizing partnership opportunities.
  • Support drafting of concept notes, pitch decks, and partnership proposals.
  • Compile data, case studies, and impact evidence to strengthen proposals.
  • Assist in adapting global WFP materials to the India context.
  • Support planning and execution of WFP India’s participation in exhibitions, summits, and forums.
  • Prepare briefing notes, talking points, and background documents for senior leadership engagements.
  • Assist in the coordination of high-level stakeholder visits.
  • Document meeting minutes and track follow-up actions.
  • Represent and support the team at private sector events.
  • Assist in preparing communication materials and outreach messages for private sector partners.
  • Support follow-up with corporate stakeholders and maintain updated partnership pipeline trackers.
  • Coordinate internally with programme, IT, and communications teams.
  • Contribute to maintaining organized knowledge repositories for partnership documentation.
  • Support engagement with the WFP Trust for India.
  • Support development of knowledge briefs and documentation of scalable innovations for cross-country dissemination.
  • Assist in preparing background materials for international delegations and knowledge exchange initiatives.
  • Contribute to synthesizing lessons learned and best practices.
  • Maintain internal trackers for partnership opportunities, engagement status, and reporting deadlines.
  • Support preparation of internal updates and partnership reports.
  • Contribute to documentation of good practices and innovative collaboration models.
Required Experience
  • Demonstrated interest in private sector engagement, fundraising, partnerships, CSR/ESG, and international development.
  • Basic understanding of fundraising and partnership development, including proposal support, donor research, and preparation of partnership materials.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in the last year of graduation or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or currently enrolled in master’s programme in Marketing, Business Administration, Economics, International Relations, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
  • Basic design and visual communication skills, including familiarity with Canva or similar tools.
