Overview

This internship focuses on supporting the Information Unit within the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) in its communications activities, including media content, social media, and event communication.


Key Responsibilities
  • Daily media monitoring and dissemination of news about UNECE.
  • Preparation of monthly and ad-hoc reports on press coverage.
  • Designing engaging visuals for social media and website.
  • Drafting, scheduling and posting of content on UNECE social media accounts.
  • Preparing and distributing UNECE weekly newsletters in English.
  • Photo coverage of meetings and events.
  • Assisting with research, fact checking, and drafting of news stories.
Required Experience

Experience and background in graphic design and video editing.

Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
  • Enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent).
  • Graduated with a university degree and commencing internship within one year of graduation.
  • Computer literate in standard software applications.
Other Details
Languages Required
Fluency in English (both oral and written) is required.
Languages Preferred
Fluency in another official UN language is desirable, preferably French or Russian.
Contract Duration
4 to 6 months
Work Modality
Interns are required to be physically present at the UNECE premises in Geneva, Switzerland.
Remuneration
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
