Overview

The Maintenance Clerk ensures the provision of electrical, plumbing, and maintenance services for UN agencies. The role involves installation, repairs, and maintenance of electrical and plumbing systems.


Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and complete installation, maintenance, repairs, and servicing of electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical system malfunctions, interruptions, and failures.
  • Perform basic electrical installation, repair, and replacement work.
  • Inspect electrical systems including wiring, conduits, switches, sockets, and distribution boards.
  • Plan and complete installation, maintenance, repairs, and servicing of plumbing systems.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing system malfunctions, interruptions, and failures.
  • Operate plumbing equipment and hand tools.
  • Inspect plumbing system components to locate malfunctions and repair/replace as necessary.
  • Prepare estimates of materials and equipment for assignments.
  • Receive and track maintenance requests.
  • Maintain files for preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain updated contact lists of technicians and emergency service providers.
  • Prepare basic documentation for invoice processing.
  • Record issuance and receipt of maintenance materials.
  • Monitor minimum stock levels and alert supervisor for replenishment.
  • Assist in periodic stock counts.
  • Provide support during renovation, cleaning, painting, and fumigation services.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Required Experience
  • 3 years of relevant working experience in building maintenance (electricity, plumbing, minor repairs, Painting and touch ups, floor repair, etc.).
  • Experience in installing, inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing low-voltage electrical systems and equipment.
  • Experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing water supply and drainage systems.
  • Knowledge of standard practices, processes, tools, equipment, and materials linked to the plumbing and electrical field.
  • Experience in basic admin tasks such as keeping logs, drafting basic reports and archiving.
  • Experience in using office equipment (computer) and basic Word and excel an advantage.
Qualifications
  • High School certificate - 3 year(s) experience
  • Specialised certification in electricity and/or plumbing.
