Overview
The Project Officer (Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM)) will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the DTM programmatic coordination, implementation and monitoring in Malawi.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor the implementation of DTM activities and field assessments.
- Participate in the development and implementation of data collection and analysis exercises.
- Identify gaps and areas for improvements and propose solutions to improve data collection and analysis procedures.
- Develop information products on DTM, including analytical and statistical reports, displacement profiles, maps, infographics, and guidelines.
- Assist in managing the field reporting mechanism used by DTM operations.
- Facilitate the integration of cross cutting and mainstreaming issues within DTM activities.
- Support the integration of IOM’s data protection principles and best practices.
- Follow up on logistical and administrative arrangements for DTM implementation and reporting.
- Organize and deliver trainings and support capacity building of DTM field staff, operational partners, NGOs and government authorities.
- Participate and represent IOM in meetings and engagement with partners and local authorities.
- Undertake duty travel, as required related to project implementation, coordination, staff training and liaison with partners.
Required Experience
- Two years of relevant professional experience with a Master's degree; or four years of relevant professional experience with a University degree.
- Experience in the field of emergency response and humanitarian assistance and the implementation of early recovery activities.
- Experience in data collection, research, and report writing.
- Experience working with data protection guidelines and principles.
- Experience in project implementation in a humanitarian context.
- Experience writing technical documents, translating/planning specifications to technical briefs for data capture/analysis, and compiling diverse datasets.
- Experience in the fields of Early Warning and Anticipatory Action is an advantage.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Political or Social Science, International Law, Humanitarian Affairs or a related field from an accredited academic institution; or University degree in the above fields.
