Overview
The consultant will coordinate and support partners on the ground for the Iloilo PV System Management and Recycling Plan, and support the technical implementation of the plan.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate communication and coordination among key stakeholders.
- Organize and support meetings, consultations, and workshops.
- Provide regular updates on progress and ensure smooth implementation of UNEP-led tasks.
- Monitor progress of activities and prepare concise reports.
- Identify potential synergies and establish collaborations.
- Coordinate with government and sub-national governments.
- Assist the international expert by providing local data, context, and regulatory information.
- Facilitate consultations to gather inputs for the plan.
- Provide logistical and technical support during capacity-building activities.
- Contribute to drafting and reviewing documents, proposals, and reports.
- Prepare regular progress reports for UNEP.
- Document stakeholder consultations, workshops, and meetings.
- Maintain records of coordination activities and provide updates.
- Act as the primary liaison between UNEP, the international expert, and local stakeholders.
- Build and strengthen partnerships with local colleagues, government agencies, community representatives and relevant donor agencies.
Required Experience
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in renewable energy and climate technologies, access to finance, market analysis, partnerships creation, stakeholder’s management, coordination and reporting
- Experience in working with Government departments, with financing institutions, other intergovernmental initiatives in the Philippines and in other ASEAN countries.
- Direct experience working with the Iloilo Provincial Government is strongly preferred.
- Experience in waste management and waste‑to‑energy (WTE) systems, particularly in collaboration with local government units (LGUs) in the Philippines, is highly desirable.
- Strong familiarity with UNEP’s work in the Philippines; prior experience collaborating directly with UNEP is highly preferred.
- Working experience on any of the themes - gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, climate resilient livelihoods will be an added advantage
Qualifications
- Advanced degree (A minimum of Master’s degree is preferred) in management, finance, economics, international development or a closely related field.
- Additional academic background or coursework in renewable energy, climate‑resilient technologies, energy finance, or enterprise development is considered an asset.
- Knowledge on PV system management and recycling is strongly preferred.
