Overview
The Programme Assistant (Operations) is responsible for coordinating specialized and complex processes and activities to support the delivery of the Office's work programme, planning, and budgeting. The role provides procedural guidance to managers and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Regular Programme and Project budgets, ensuring proper allocation and reporting, and taking corrective action.
- Provide support to budget holders in preparing Periodic Budgetary Reports (PBR) and the biennial Programme of Work and Budget (PWB).
- Prepare project budget revisions in consultation with budget holders.
- Support the initiation, administration, and monitoring of Letters of Agreement.
- Respond to routine queries on programme and project matters and inform management of processes and procedures for administrative services.
- Review data quality, maintain office records, and compile data for financial analyses.
- Coordinate administrative and financial actions related to staff management, non-staff support, travel, payments, and procurement.
- Support the dissemination of project outputs and knowledge products.
- Provide procedural guidance to junior Programme Assistants and other staff.
- Review and recommend improvements to programme/project administration procedures.
Required Experience
Four years of relevant experience in the provision of programme/projects support services.
Qualifications
Secondary School Education.
