Overview
Develop technical tools for activity monitoring of WASH, Shelter, and Housing interventions and train the MEAL team on their application. The role aims to strengthen monitoring and technical oversight of these interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site visits for WASH, Shelter, and Housing interventions.
- Design and refine technical monitoring tools, checklists, verification templates, and engineering assessment forms.
- Establish standardized monitoring approaches.
- Review project technical documentation for monitoring purposes.
- Verify that construction and rehabilitation works meet relevant codes and standards.
- Coordinate with relevant units and staff to harmonize monitoring approaches.
- Support needs assessments, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations.
- Identify risks, delays, quality issues, and propose mitigating actions.
- Deliver training sessions for MEAL staff, field teams, and implementing partners.
- Prepare clear, evidence-based monitoring reports.
- Provide technical support in construction management, engineering, design, and supervision.
- Train the MEAL team conducting activity monitoring using the newly designed tools.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years of engineering experience in WASH and/or Shelter/Housing projects.
- Previous experience conducting technical assessments, supervision, or quality control.
- Experience with MEAL systems or project performance monitoring is an asset.
Qualifications
• At least Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Environmental Engineering, WASH Engineering, Architecture, or related fields.
