Overview

The consultant will support knowledge management, communication, and digital outreach for the NDC Act & Invest initiative and UNEP’s broader NDC work. The objective is to raise awareness about climate investments and strengthen UNEP’s visibility.


Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, update, and expand the NDC Act & Invest website and UNEP NDC webpage.
  • Act as a UNEP communications focal point for NDCs Climate Change Division related work.
  • Support the development of digital content, knowledge materials, and communication products.
  • Assist with NDC related priority climate deliverables, including overseeing editing, design, and layout of reports.
  • Support the web presence and content rollout for high-visibility NDC moments and major events.
  • Provide additional support in communications, content creation, and knowledge management on an ad hoc basis.
  • Perform other duties on related areas of work, such as NDC Cluster support, if needed.
Required Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in public Communication, Programme management or related field.
  • Experience in communications, event management, or coordination of outreach and dissemination activities.
  • Experience working with public institutions, international organizations, or cooperation projects.
  • Experience working with the United Nations, in particular UNEP is desirable.
  • Experience with UNEP’s work on NDCs is desirable.
  • Experience participating in and/or organizing major international climate events, such as the UNFCCC Conference of the Parties and Climate Weeks, NDC peer exchange workshops, and other relevant forums is desirable.
  • Knowledge on the UNFCCC process, the UN system-wide Climate Promise 2025 and related work by key partners is desirable.
  • Experience organizing events related to environmental or climate change topics is desirable.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders from the public, private, and/or financial sectors in the development of public policies is desirable.
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and Masters degree in Communications, Environmental Management, Political Sciences, International Relations or related fields.
