Overview
The incumbent provides political analysis and advice on issues related to NATO-Ukraine relations to enable informed decision making and support the management of current affairs. The incumbent deputises for the Head of Political Affairs in her/his absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide political analysis and advise the NRU and NATO leadership on policy and partnership issues related to Ukraine.
- Advise key stakeholders on reforms and relevant policy-related issues within assigned area of responsibilities.
- Take the lead on issues related to the NATO-Ukraine adapted Annual National Programme.
- Work across NATO structures and enhance relationships with Allies, partner countries, international organisations, and various other contacts.
- Support the delivery of the NRU’s political analysis by directing and coaching locally-engaged political analysts.
- Deputise for the Head of Political Affairs in her/his absence.
Required Experience
- At least four years of experience in foreign/security/defence affairs;
- Have a well-developed understanding of the overall political context of NATO’s relations with Ukraine and Ukraine-related political and security-policy issues.
Qualifications
• Possess a university degree in the field of political science, international relations, security studies, or another relevant discipline;
