Leads and coordinates the work of OHCHR Yemen Country Office, including monitoring and reporting, advisory services, technical cooperation, and protection and promotion of human rights. Formulates human rights strategies and advises on human rights matters in Yemen.
A minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience in human rights, political affairs, international relations, law or related area is required. Experience working in a conflict/post conflict country on protection of civilians is required. Experience managing a team of professionals is desirable. Experience in monitoring and reporting on human rights issues is desirable. Experience in human rights mainstreaming and technical cooperation in a UN field context is desirable. Experience in fundraising and engagement with donors is desirable.
Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in law, political science, international relations, social sciences or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
