Overview
This role supports UN Women's Women's Economic Empowerment (WEE) programme in Afghanistan, focusing on private sector engagement, value chain strengthening, and capacity building for women entrepreneurs.
Key Responsibilities
- Map and identify private sector partners.
- Develop Private Sector Engagement Strategy.
- Build and maintain partnerships with stakeholders.
- Organize networking events and forums.
- Develop concepts for collaboration and partnership agreements.
- Design training modules for private sector partners.
- Design and conduct assessments for women entrepreneurs.
- Lead training on value addition, quality standards, and certification.
- Facilitate women entrepreneurs' integration into value chains.
- Provide technical support for women-led companies and business associations.
- Contribute to designing joint initiatives with other UN Agencies and Development Partners.
- Review joint projects and programs.
- Develop knowledge products and success stories.
- Create and maintain national level relevant gender specific data.
- Develop Monitoring framework and tools.
- Guide field monitoring and reporting.
- Lead Annual and Quarterly reporting.
- Document success stories, lessons learned and best practices.
- Provide recommendations for programming.
Required Experience
- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience in development organizations, with demonstrated experience in women’s economic empowerment, livelihoods, or related programme areas.
- Proven experience in training and capacity building activities, including development of training materials and tools, and support to training of trainers (ToT) initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in programme monitoring and reporting, including coordination of field monitoring activities and preparation of monitoring or field reports.
- Experience supporting programme implementation and partner coordination, including exposure to administrative and contract related processes and use of UN corporate systems (e.g. Partner Grant Agreements Management System - PGAMS, Performance & Results Integrated System for Management - PRISM) is an asset.
- Experience of working in or exposure to different cultural contexts (e.g. through professional assignments, studies, or volunteer work) is considered an advantage.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in in economics, development studies, gender, agriculture, business management or related field with more than 8 years of experience or master’s degree with minimum of 7 years’ experience
