Overview
This internship supports the coordination and delivery of early warning initiatives, including technical workstreams and event preparation, within the Risk Knowledge, Monitoring, and Capacity development Branch.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with coordination and delivery of early warning initiatives supported under the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and Climate Resilience and Early Warning Systems (CREWS).
- Assist with technical workstreams related to multi-hazard risk assessment trainings, risk and disaster data technical support to countries, and coordination of joint EW4All programmes and projects.
- Assist with preparation of various events and meetings, such as EW4All Advisory Panel, Global Coordination and Member States Briefing.
- Assist with preparations for the 2027 Ministerial Conference
- General assistance to EW4All as needed.
Required Experience
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
Qualifications
- Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor's degree or equivalent).
- Applicants must be computer literate in standard software applications including MS Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PH.D. Programme.
