Overview

Provide technical guidance to schools and non-formal centers to implement Edtech initiatives and online resources on Skills for Employability. Support the planning and implementation of digital learning platforms, especially the Learning Passport.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance on the implementation and evaluation of UNICEF’s Edtech and skills for employability initiatives.
  • Liaise with implementing partners and local governments to ensure quality delivery of digital learning initiatives.
  • Write a monthly update with key implementation and progress information.
  • Document the planning, testing, and delivery of online platforms for digital learning initiatives.
  • Liaise with CEHRD, CDC and other stakeholders on institutional capacity building of accessible digital textbooks initiative.
  • Provide technical support to implementing partners, schools, non-formal learning centres and local governments.
  • Provide technical assistance to ensure schools and non-formal learning centres implement online resources for the development of skills for employability effectively.
  • Support the management, oversight, and coordination of partnerships and related contracts.
  • Work closely with field offices and implementing partners to ensure teachers and facilitators receive on-going support.
  • Monitor activities and document evidence that includes at least one human interest story/case study per quarter.
  • Develop an implementation plan and timelines on the digital resources on skills for employability.
  • Develop a communication and dissemination plan for UNICEF’s EdTech and Skills initiatives.
  • Develop an implementation plan for scale up of Akelius initiative.
  • Provide technical input to the teacher training resources on blended learning.
  • Coordinate with CEHRD, CDC, schools, learning centres and implementing partners to institutionalize existing pilot initiatives.
  • Develop a quarterly progress report.
  • Support implementation of the digital resources on skills for employability plans.
  • Implement teacher training plans in collaboration with schools, learning centres and partners.
  • Document risks, challenges and lessons learned during start-up of skills for employability initiatives.
  • Coordinate with CDC, CEHRD and partners to ensure effective scale up of ADT.
  • Support the delivery of training sessions.
  • Support the M&E officer to develop robust M&E plans for the initiatives.
  • Work closely with education section and CEHRD to quality assure digital resources and support the implementation of online platform.
  • Facilitate orientation and training sessions.
  • Observe and monitor classrooms.
  • Provide follow-up support to teachers and facilitators on implementing blended learning in classrooms.
  • Develop at least one Human Interest Story/case study.
  • Facilitate refresher training sessions for facilitators on implementing online courses.
  • Provide progress report.
Required Experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of experience working for education projects with focus on EdTech and learning management systems
  • Familiar with the education context of Nepal including all federal structures.
  • Experience in the capacity building of partners at the national, regional, and district levels
Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in Education, IT or social sciences or discipline relevant to the assignment
