Overview
The Senior Protection Casework Associate (AVR) will conduct individual protection screening of migrants, support case management services, and assist in the implementation of post-arrival assistance to ensure safe and dignified returns.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individual protection screening of migrants upon arrival, recording information and supporting case plan preparation.
- Support case management services, including follow-up, tracking service delivery, and coordinating referrals.
- Assist in the implementation of safe and dignified post-arrival assistance.
- Support communication with beneficiaries by explaining available assistance.
- Maintain accurate data collection and case notes in IOM’s case management systems.
- Coordinate with operational staff to facilitate service provision and flag constraints.
- Participate in protection coordination forums and collaborate with partners.
- Assist in preparing reports, summaries, and contributing to protection assessments.
- Carry out duty travel for field visits and monitoring.
- Assist migrants with protection needs by facilitating referrals and follow-up.
Required Experience
- Familiarity with protection case management (including for survivors of GBV and human trafficking, children at risk) in humanitarian or migration contexts.
- Experience working with vulnerable persons, ideally including returnees or forced returnees, who have diverse needs, is an asset.
- Experience with referrals and coordination with local protection actors, NGOs, or government services.
Qualifications
High school diploma with six years of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations/Affairs, Research, Law or a related field from an accredited academic institution, with four years of relevant experience.
