Overview
Support research on the Capital Adequacy Framework (CAF) architecture and the definition, justification, and application of Preferred Creditor Status (PCS) across multilateral development banks (MDBs).
Key Responsibilities
- Support on the structured review of the G20 Common Framework, focusing on recent developments, implementation challenges, and implications for MDBs.
- Research will involve mapping of the current CAF architecture, summarizing documented country cases and timelines, and analysing key issues such as creditor coordination, comparability of treatment, private creditor participation, and interaction with IMF programs.
- Support structured review of how PCS is defined, justified, and applied across MDBs.
- Including summarizing the economic and legal rationale for PCS, reviewing historical evidence on MDB repayment behaviour during sovereign stress episodes, and comparing how PCS is recognized by major credit rating agencies.
Qualifications
• Master’s degree in law, business administration, finance, international studies, from a reputable university.
